Killa Hawk, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, has been a significant figure in the city’s hip-hop scene since the early 1990s. His journey began as one of the original members of SLS (Sound Listening Satisfaction), a collective formed in 1994 by himself, alongside artists like Eij Kyu and DL. He shared a close association with members of D12 thanks to Eij Kyu one of the early members of D12. Eij Kyu influence was noteworthy to both group’s early stages. He departed before D12 achieved mainstream success but his influence was formative.

Beyond his involvement with D12, Killa Hawk has been an active figure in Detroit’s hip-hop community. He has performed at notable venues like The Hip Hop Shop, a pivotal location during Detroit’s golden era of hip-hop. This venue hosted many emcee battles and served as a hub for artists including Slum Village, Black Milk, Elzhi, Royce da 5’9″, and Eminem.

In recent years, Killa Hawk has continued creating music, releasing the album “Clones” in 2022 produced by his new found partner Raydiation. This project features tracks such as “I’m Coming” (featuring JusJon & Bertha) and “Teapot” (featuring Raydiation, Bertha & JusJon), showcasing his ongoing dedication to his craft.
